Another boost for the old ego
Scene: Int. Bar. Night.
Two young women sit in earnest conversation about the play they have just seen.
Enter: Man
Man approaches otherwise empty seating area and sits so close to Girl 1 he squashes her coat.
Man: (extending hand for Girl 1 to shake) Hello. I am Somalian.
Girl 1: Oh. Hello.
Man: Where are you from?
Girl 1: I'm English.
Man: (surprised) Really? Oh. (turns to Girl 2)
Man: (extending hand to shake) Pleased to meet you. Are you man or woman?
Girl 2: (baffled) Er, woman.
Girls 1 and 2 exchange confused looks and resume conversation.
Man: (prodding Girl 1 in arm with finger) So, what do you think of American CIA?
Yes, I'm Girl 2, and this really happened. I wouldn't mind, but I was in full feminine mode i.e. make-up, skirt, heels. No comprendo.
